How it all started

William Yeboah is a highly motivated Chef, born and raised in The Bronx, NY. From a young age, William has always had a passion for experimenting with different flavors and spices that complement each other. This passion is what has contributed to shaping William into the person he is today.

William attended Tompkins Cortland Community College, where he majored in Computer Science in his first year. William is of Ghanaian descent, and since he was actively involved in different leadership roles on campus, he created a club, Afrikan Caribbean Association (ACA), and served as its president. He created opportunities for students to learn more about their cultures through different research initiatives. William taught himself how to cook, and later on, started teaching cooking classes to other club members. He also began selling food to his peers on weekends. Eventually, William’s efforts led to the founding of the ACA Food Festival.

William realized that he had a passion for both food and technology. Therefore, he wanted to find a way that he would combine his interests to form something unique. Through computer-based research, he explored different cultures and the history of international and regional ingredients while finding ways to cook sumptuous meals with the newly acquired knowledge. William’s research and determination led to the launching of the Make It Zesty! (MIZ), an international cuisine catering company and academy.

Since its launch in January 2019, MIZ has done food demonstrations for various brands, including Hawaiian Rolls, COLUMBUS® Craft Meats, DILUSSO® Genoa Salami, and Springer Mountain Farms. MIZ has also held cooking demonstrations with institutional clients such as Cornell University, Tompkins Cortland Community College, Columbia University & Teachers College, and Columbia University. The company has also frequently catered for diversity networking events in Universities and through private dinners.
